Muslims are encouraged to pray for Imam Mahdi during his absence (occultation). There are a number of supplications pleading to Allah to hasten the return and rise of Imam al-Mahdi (AS).
This plea, known as Dua Ahad, is for an end to oppression, and for justice. But it is also a deep yearning to be in the company of our Imam. And is ultimately an expression of profound love for Allah, for our Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) and for the Ahlul-Bayt.
Dua Ahad is one of the more well known, and frequently recited supplications. According to hadith attributed to Imam Jafer Sadiq (AS) it should be recited for forty days consecutively, and with Allah’s grace one may be one of the helpers of the 12th Imam (AS).
