A beautiful poem recited by Sheikh Akraf masterfully articulating the remorse and anguish one feels when he is unable to fulfill his duty towards Allah due to unending worldly desires, as Imam 'Ali [as] significantly states, "Love of the world and love of Allah cannot be contained in the same heart", we must return to ourselves time and time again and realise that attachments and desires to the materialistic world only brings us humiliation in the eyes of Allah as it corrupts the inner sanctuary and kingdom of the soul and brings about distance and veils between us and our Lord. Indeed Allah has created us with a more sublime and lofty purpose, a purpose so exalted to which the pleasure of desiring this world cannot compare, so do not trade your ever lasting abode to that which is temporary!
